1982 Musicman Stingray Bass
A rare oppurtunity to purchase a 1982 Musicman Stingray in superb condition. Classic configuration, clear ash body, maple neck and fingerboard. The neck is absolutely sublime, the best one I have played on a Stingray, hands down. It also shows the TM stamp in the logo and taking the neck off shows it’s been predrilled for the earlier 3 bolt neck plate. It’s possible the neck originally dates to 77/78 and has been fitted in ‘82 in the transition era where a lot of ‘parts bin basses’ were made, more investigative work is ongoing. It looks like there has been a truss rod issue and this has been replaced and a new fingerboard fitted, hence the added dot at 21st fret. The wear and colouring on the bass and back of the neck is constan in colouring and weart and doesn’t look wrong. More pics are available upon request.
These basses are legendary, every player/collector needs one! Without doubt the best slap bass ever made! Fantastic low fast action.
Weight 4.4kg
Comes with an old but non original case.
